The Canadian tech company Patriot One Technologies (PAT.V) who aims to help lessen the amount of weapons deaths is becoming more and more popular across Scandinavian countries.
On the surface it seems somewhat random, on our site we have noticed a slight relationship between Canadian stocks and Scandinavian countries when we take a look at the analytics.
It’s clear that countries like Sweden and Germany have investors that are watching the Canadian markets more-so than other countries around the world, but the correlation between Patriot One and these countries has never been this strong
One theory behind this has been the drastic rise in crime in the country over the past few years. According to Numbeo’s analysis, crime in the city of Malmo, Sweden has increased to alarming levels. In Stockholm. Sweden’s largest city it’s even worse.
If we compare the rising crime index of Stockholm and Malmo with cities from surrounding countries the trend seems to be a vast regional problem across Scandinavia, which up until a few years ago was considered to be one of the safest places in the world.
(Score based on ‘Crime increasing in the past 3 years’, the scale is from 0-100, the higher the number the higher crime rate)
Stockholm, Sweden: 71.52
Malmo, Sweden: 67.47
Oslo, Norway: 66.01
Bergen, Norway: 65.45
Helsinki, Finland: 53.85
